COOL WORKSHOPS FOR CREATIVE PEOPLE
THE EVENING SCHOOL
Welcome, we are glad you are here!
As creatives ourselves, we acknowledge the need for building supportive communities where we can thrive. Artist life can be isolating. Our workshops, masterclasses, and networking sessions provide a place to support each other's businesses.
Our Next Workshop
Intermediate and advanced guitarists, this one is for you!
A workshop designed to help transition from knowing chord shapes to achieving fretboard fluency. Practical and applicable to your playing, composition and arrangement work.
Bring your instrument. We will have individual 10 minute sessions of practice with the teacher.
The capacity is limited. Registration is $20. This is a community, public program and all the money goes to the teacher.
About the teacher: David started his career as a classical musician, and cultivated exceptional versatility. Few guitarists can claim equal mastery over the rigorous technique of classical Baroque music and the fluid improvisation of modern jazz. He has contributed to three Grammy-nominated albums with jazz vocalist Kurt Elling and has recorded with icons such as Mavis Staples, Pharoah Sanders, and Mike Stern. His 1993 album Loose Contact (with drummer Mark Walker) earned a prestigious four-star review from Downbeat Magazine, a testament to his skills as both a performer and a composer.
Registration is open.
Why Support The Evening School?
The Evening School creates space for artists and cultural workers to gather, learn, and share their work in public.
Through masterclasses, workshops, and salons, we bring people together across disciplines to exchange ideas, develop skills, and build lasting relationships. These programs are intentionally accessible and focused on process, not performance.
The Evening School is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of The Evening School must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Your support helps us:
Pay artists and speakers
Keep events low-cost or free
Document and share the work that happens in the room
Maintain a consistent, welcoming public program.
